In my last post, I covered how much money and weed you'll save by Vaping versus Smoking marijuana and other herbs. Vaping saves you hundreds of dollars per year because it makes more efficient use of THC and other herbal properties.
Click here to read how you can Conserve Your Herbs & Save Money by Vaping.
In this post, I'd like to switch to a more-entertaining and less math-heavy topic.
What are the strangest things you can vape?
Many know that marijuana, tobacco, other herbs, and e-liquids can be vaped. But what things do people vape that makes you think WTF!?
Find out in this list of 17 bizarre substances you can vape:
Vodka tastes decent when mixed with coke, lemonade, or orange juice. However, I don't enjoy drinking vodka straight.
So is it any better when vaped straight?
"It's god awful - don't do it," said one of the commentators after vaping vodka.
I'll take her word for it and stay away from this one. But if you're a vodka lover, you might enjoy it more than these YouTubers.
Catnip is often referred to as marijuana for cats. And this description is accurate because, according to PetMD, this herb's nepetalactone gives cats a high similar to weed or LSD (2).
Interestingly enough, you can also benefit from catnip because it offers feelings of calmness, euphoria, and relaxation. According to GreenDorphin, catnip can enhance the marijuana vaping experience and help conserve weed (3).
If you're interested in vaping catnip, heat your herbal vaporizer up to 150°C (302°F).
3. Mountain Dew
When I want something sweet that also gives me (short-term) energy, Mountain Dew is a nice alternative to coffee or Red Bull. But vaping it!?
A YouTuber named Joe Casey gave me this idea when he experimented with vaping Mountain Dew (4). And he seemed rather pleased with the results.
"So that turned out better than I thought," said Casey. "Like, you really taste the Mountain Dew. I liked that. I didn't expect it to work, but it did."
I'll stick to drinking my Mountain Dews straight from a bottle. But the fact that you can still taste the vaporized Mountain Dew is encouraging.
I must admit that the only time I ever use honey is on biscuits from KFC. I never once thought about vaping it.
"I have to say that it's a very potent flavor," said the Serial Vapist. "But it's really sweet. And it's actually kind of nice. You know, I like it. But this has zero nicotine in it. So it's not something that I would be vaping all the time."
Personally, I wouldn't like the cleanup after pouring sticky honey into my atomizer. But I also wouldn't mind inhaling this sweet nectar at least once.
Thyme is an interesting herb to put into dry vaporizers. Unlike some of the substances that you'll find on this list, vaping thyme actually has benefits.
Some of the perks to vaping Thyme include; hypertension relief, reduced blood pressure, and relief from respiratory conditions.
Like catnip, thyme is another herb that you can add with cannabis to enhance your buzz and conserve marijuana.
6. Green Tea
Most people know that green tea is a healthy drink that gives you a reasonable dose of caffeine. But not as many know that you can also vape green tea in herb form.
By vaping green tea at around 190°C (or 374°F), you can look forward to antioxidants, better brain functionality, decreased risk of cancer, fewer headaches, and less depression.
I couldn't imagine this going well before watching, given that butter tastes bad by itself. And my assumptions were correct.
"Tastes like burnt popcorn," Casey described. "It's a mixture between burnt popcorn, and hanging over a barbecue grill and inhaling all of the fumes from it."
This Chinese herb is often used to treat sexual dysfunction in men. But ginseng can provide some other benefits to both male and female vapers.
These include; increased energy, less anxiety, lower cholesterol, smaller risk of diabetes, reduced stress, and relaxation.
A good vaping temperature for ginseng is 190°C (or 374°F).
9. Hand Sanitizer
"I'm feeling pretty bad, this is stupid," said one of the commentators, who could barely stop coughing after vaping hand sanitizer a few times.
10. Hot Fudge
The Will It Vape YouTube channel crew vaped Hershey's hot fudge (8). And it sounds like hot fudge tastes just as good vaporized as it does on ice cream.
"It tastes like peanut butter, with a hint of bread," said one of the guys. "It's pretty good actually."
This is one that I might try someday because it sounds delicious.
"Oh dude, that's awful! That's awful!" said one of the guys. "It tastes like ketchup, that's the crazy part. It tastes like burnt, shit-ass ketchup."
Lavender is highly popular in the essential oils world for its therapeutic benefits. And I believe the same could one day be true in the vaping community as well.
Research from 2012 shows that lavender can decrease blood pressure, lower heart rate, and reduce skin temperature (9).
Those who were involved in the study described themselves as "more active, fresher, and more relaxed" than the placebo group.
13. Hot Sauce
Paul from DIYVape's vaped a really strong hot sauce (10). And this is another instance where the user suffered from their experiment.
"It doesn't taste so bad actually," Paul initially said. "Okay, it does. Yeah, I'll just be sick in my mouth. That's fine, as long as you guys are happy."
Considering that the guy almost vomited afterward, this is one I'll definitely stay away from.
14. Fish Sauce
While DIYVape's Paul only dry-heaved after vaping hot sauce, he tossed his cookies several times with fish sauce (11).
Fish sauce - liquid extracted from the fermentation of fish with sea salt - is already nauseating. But can you imagine vaping this liquid!?
Paul threw up in a plastic bag multiple times after vaping this smelly substance. He normally vapes weird things three times for his audience, but he only made it through this event twice.
Peppermint is another herb on this list that offers health benefits and makes you feel great when vaped.
Some of peppermint's benefits include; curing diarrhea, fighting the cold and flu, reducing nausea and vomiting, and reducing overflowing bacteria in your body.
Given all of this, peppermint is the perfect thing to vape when you get sick.
16. Energy Drinks
I've seen several videos of people vaping energy drinks, so it must be worth trying.
"This is amazing," he said after vaping RockStar energy drink. "Great flavor. It actually almost hits Monster spot on. I do enjoy it. I do enjoy the vapor. But I wish it had a little bit of the throat hit [like nicotine]."
Beware! The next thing in the Weird Things You Can Vape list is quite strange (some might think gross). Full disclosure, I haven't tried this myself, but it's definitely the weirdest thing on this list
Continue at your own discretion...
If you want weird, then try vaping your own semen. Better yet - don't!
I watched a YouTube video where a guy was proud to declare himself "the first man to vape semen." After completing the task, he offered a glowing review (13).
"It's actually pretty f-ckin' good," he said. "It tastes very sweet."
I'll just have to take his word on this one.
